Got a bit of a lecture this morning from some goon at work who told me "you need to listen to Ben Shapiro if you want the real truth on Trump's America".

Vaguely aware of this chap, but previously dismissed him as another motormouth divot like that Milo bod.

His bee in his bonnet about Iran is even more cranky. In his mind its Dirka-Dirkastan terrorist central and probably egged on by the Gulf States and Netanyahu. And he will put America first and advised everyone else to put their country first? Do you put America first through isolationism, institutional compromise or proactive international military intervention? This is kids stuff and its effect must be for the global diplomatic community to have nothing but sympathy for their US counterparts.

I can only think that John Kelly had no idea of what Trump was about to say.

Surely an address to the UNGA would have gone through the chief of staff, as well as many others?

Complete rumour but apparently a 'senior aide' has said the Rocket Man part was not in the speech. Trump was advised not to use it but he went ahead and used it anyway. I suspect Trump went off-script a couple of times.

Having said that, being fair, that Kelly photo, while hilarious, has no context.

Sure he didn't filch it from some skank on Twitter and thought that it was presidential?

Trump encourages the firing of NFL players who kneel during the national anthem

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/ ... m-protests

Quote:
Donald Trump launched a sensational attack on NFL players who have kneeled in protest of the national anthem during a speech in Alabama on Friday night, challenging the league’s owners to release anyone who engages in the movement started last year by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’” the president said at a rally at Huntsville’s Von Braun Center in support of Republican senator Luther Strange, who is running in a special GOP primary election next week to remain in the Senate seat vacated by attorney general Jeff Sessions.
