From the National Review Online:

We’ve seen an important (though far from decisive) battle in the slow-motion civil war the nation is undergoing: The blue states want to secede not from America but from Americanism. They reject the American republic of God-fearing individuals in favor of the European ideal, which has only been government by aristocracy: either an aristocracy of birth or, nowadays, of ruling know-it-alls — of post-religious, globalist intellectuals (a.k.a. PORGIs). As I’ve said before — many others have too — you can’t graduate class after class after class of left-indoctrinated ignoramuses without paying the price. Last night was a down payment.

But we’ve won civil wars and preserved the Union before. We’ll do it again — if we face up to the fact that we need to replace our schools and colleges now; the grace period has lasted a generation, but it’s over. I know we can do it and I’m pretty sure we will do it. Americanism is too strong and brilliant and young to die.

They need to take a look at whose arse was kicked in their last civil war.

Time to tell any Democrats you know to fuck off and die

Express your hatred, shame, and outright disgust with anyone you know who voted Democrat

However, for me, I'm choosing another rather unique path; a personal boycott, if you will. Starting early this morning, I am going to un-friend every single individual on Facebook who voted for Obama, or I even suspect may have Democrat leanings. I will do the same in person. All family and friends, even close family and friends, who I know to be Democrats are hereby dead to me. I vow never to speak to them again for the rest of my life, or have any communications with them. They are in short, the enemies of liberty. They deserve nothing less than hatred and utter contempt

I strongly urge all other libertarians to do the same. Are you married to someone who voted for Obama, have a girlfriend who voted 'O'. Divorce them. Break up with them without haste. Vow not to attend family functions, Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas for example, if there will be any family members in attendance who are Democrats.

Do you work for someone who voted for Obama? Quit your job. Co-workers who voted for Obama. Simply don't talk to them in the workplace, unless your boss instructs you too for work-related only purposes. Have clients who voted Democrat? Call them up this morning and tell them to take their business elsewhere's.

Have a neighbor who votes for Obama? You could take a crap on their lawn. Then again, probably not a good idea since it would be technically illegal to do this. But you could have your dog take care of business. Not your fault if he just happens to choose that particular spot.

And start your boycott of your Democrat friends and family today. Like this morning. First thing you can do, very easy, is to un-friend all Democrats from your Facebook account.

Excellent, we'll soon be voting for the "Hissy fit of the year" award.

I think you've nicked Beefy Botham's line about Australia.

I'm actually paraphrasing my dad's line about Lincolnshire...."flat boring countryside full of flat boring people".

While he's obviously a total mentalist, I wonder how long he would last without being arrested if he was over here, Muslim and saying these things about our government.

What they are saying is that America is founded on democracy and we didn't get our way so let's start a revolution to overthrow democracy...

These twats are right, there is a lot of anti-American attitudes circulating right now and waving the flag while threatening Obama's re-election makes you no more American than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Republicans kicked arse [edit: along with the help of some northern Democrats, who were a different thing than southern Democrats, just as today, Republicans from the north are a lot different than those from the south and Bible Belt], but that is because they were the anti-slavery party back then. The shift from the Republicans being the progressive party started in the early 20th century with the "Dixiecrats" holding onto their base until the 60s.

That said, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt would not recognise their party now-a-days. It always creeps me out when modern conservative Republicans ignore the 20th century ideological shift of the parties. Lincoln would probably be a Democrat if he were a modern politician. Teddy might still be a Republican, but he would have been a moderate and likely pushed out of national politics.

Socialism Favored Positively By 39 Percent Of Americans

Quote:
According to the latest Gallup Poll, Americans are increasingly more positive about Socialism. When Americans were asked whether they had a positive or negative image of each of seven economically related terms, 39 percent responded positively to Socialism, up from 36 percent in 2010.

Among self-described liberals and progressives, Socialism enjoyed a 62 percent positive rating. Even among self-identified conservatives Socialism is becoming popular, with an amazing 25 percent viewing Socialism positively. Conservatives with a libertarian bent might be further disappointed to see that Republicans and Republican-leaners have higher regard for “big business” than they do for “capitalism.”

The hour is almost upon us, comrades.

A little more punctuation is required to make that comprehensible. I think I know what you're trying to say, but I really can't be sure.

Aaah!
Childish drivel. Just what we need on a cold winter's afternoon.

At least you could attempt to not make peoples' points for them rather than looking like a moron.
