I see that the TV personality Rufus Hound (otherwise known as Bob Simpson) has announced that he will be standing as a candidate for the NHSA Party in the elections to the European Parliament.

Hmmm. The following extract from Mr. Hound's Wikipedia entry is interesting :

Quote:
"Hound campaigned for the Liberal Democrats at the 2010 UK General Election. He has subsequently declared his support for the National Health Action Party. In an episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, which aired on 25 January 2014, Hound announced plans to run as a Member of the European Parliament for the party. [7]"

So Mr Hound agreed with Nick, did he? I'd love to have witnessed his moment of epiphany when he realised that his beloved Lib Dems are complicit with and have actually enabled the bastard Tories effectively to begin flogging off our NHS for profit (not to mention the rest of their catalogue of sins).

But fair play to him for doing something active to try to rectify things. Let's hope he's not too fucking late.

Well, it's a matter of punishment or rehabilitation isn't it? Should we tell hin to piss off or welcome his conversion? Rufus wasn't the only one suckered, was he? Let's hope he's learned his lesson (at what cost to the nation? He must be reminded) Call me an eternal optimist, but I'm sensing a general waking-up on more than one front amongst the populace and hope Mr Hound's realisation and willingness to do something about it is shared by the electorate.

I'd hope that a few right-minded LibDems (are any left, most of the ones I knew quit after tuition fees) might follow him.

I've had the fortune to speak with Hound for a while. He's a surprisingly thoughtful and pleasant man.

BBC comedian says Cameron 'wants your kids to die'
Quote:
This is a new low. Rufus Hound, the host of a Radio 4 comedy programme, has announced he's standing for election to the European Parliament and accused the Prime Minister of wanting children to die ... Hound is a candidate for the National Health Action Party, an apparently respectable organisation founded by a former MP and the Chair of the NHS Consultants Association. If a member of Ukip used such intemperate, inflammatory language, Nigel Farage would be forced to disown him or her. Shouldn't the National Health Action Party do likewise?

And the turdmeister should know - he's an expert on exploiting children for personal profit. Yes, indeed - whoever heard of a Kipper using intemperate, inflammatory language and retaining their post...oh, wait.

Interesting that Farage is forced to disown holocaust deniers and gay weather plaguers, isn't it?

Yes well maybe their views go a bit too far but at least they aren't COMMUNISTS.

Erm, but Cameron and co do support policies which kill children and adults as well - it's a fact that cuts kill. Why is it so outrageous to point this out?

The Fail has got in on the act, though I'm slightly surprised they haven't adopted the Telegraph's anti-BBC slant:

'Cameron wants your kids to die unless you're rich': Comedian Rufus Hound's vile attack on the Prime Minister

Top-rated by a mile...

Or perhaps he is someone very angry about the way the average British plebeian is being treated by these posh boys from Westminster. I can't say I blame him for his outburst.

There's a lot to be said about this sentence.

The Mail still lives in a world where 'blame the Socialists' is the default position. They haven't yet realised that many of their readers have rejected the mainstream parties, and the one in particular that could always rely on them.

I think the comment was a bit beyond accuracy - David Cameron doesn't want your kids to die, he just doesn't care if they do.

Or, even more accurately, he regretfully accepts that the drive to a true free-market economy will entail both winners and losers, and in the short term, before the extra wealth starts to trickle down and the benefits of labour deregulation make themselves felt, some people will suffer from a period of fiscal readjustment. But there will be less red tape and pettyfogging rules hampering employers.

Even more accurately still, employers and hedge funds absolutely need to make even more profit, so you little people are screwed.

I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years back and concur. I also saw a stand-up session he did last year where he was seriously ripping lumps off the coalition - pretty much using the contents of the profanisaurus as punctuation at points. I've never seen him get that outright angry and unpleasant about anything.
